Preparing for Your Dealership Visit

To ensure a seamless experience when purchasing a car, truck, or SUV at Car Central, please gather the following documentation:


For Connecticut Residents with a Connecticut Driver's License

Proof of Residency: One document showing your name and Connecticut address, such as a utility bill, bank statement, or lease agreement.

Trade-In Vehicle Title: The original title of your trade-in vehicle.​

Duplicate Title Fee: If you don't have the title for your trade-in vehicle and there's no outstanding loan, a $150 duplicate title fee applies.​

Payoff Information: Details of any remaining loan balance on your trade-in vehicle.

For Connecticut Residents with an Out-of-State Driver's License

Proof of Residency: Two documents showing your name and Connecticut address, such as utility bills, bank statements, or lease agreements.

Social Security Card or W-2: To verify your Social Security Number.​

Trade-In Vehicle Title: The original title of your trade-in vehicle.​

Duplicate Title Fee: If you don't have the title for your trade-in vehicle and there's no outstanding loan, a $150 duplicate title fee applies.​

Payoff Information: Details of any remaining loan balance on your trade-in vehicle.

For Out-of-State Residents

Proof of Residency: One document showing your name and address in your home state, such as a utility bill, bank statement, or lease agreement.​

Acceptable Documents for Proof of Residence

  • Computer-Generated Bill: Such as a utility bill or credit card statement.​
  • Bank Statement or Transaction Receipt: Showing your name and address.​
  • Pre-Printed Pay Stub: From your employer.​
  • W-2 Form: Or property/excise tax bill, Social Security Administration, or pension/retirement annual benefits summary statement.​
  • Medicaid or Medicare Benefit Statement: Official correspondence.​
  • Current Valid Homeowners, Renters, or Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy: As proof of residency.​
  • Residential Mortgage Statement: Showing your name and address.​
  • Child Support Check Stub: If applicable.​
  • First-Class Mail from Federal or State Court or Agency: Addressed to you.​
  • Change-of-Address Confirmation: From the U.S. Postal Service.​
